A New Iowa Craft Brewery
Peace Tree Brewing Company in Knoxville Ready for Production

A beer isn’t just a beer. A truly great beer is the outcome of a myriad of tests, constantly
tweaking the intricate process of brewing, and balancing the most delicate of flavors.
Through this dedication to craft, Peace Tree Brewing Company has emerged at lightning
speed with a collection of distinct and truly local brews set to sell throughout Iowa.

Peace Tree takes its name from a grand sycamore tree, now a lone stump in Lake Red
Rock located north of Knoxville near the old town of Red Rock. With the vast majority
of Iowa’s 23 breweries found in larger cities such as Des Moines, Dubuque, and Cedar
Rapids, Peace Tree is a rarity ‐a vibrant microbrewery nestled in a small town. Yet
there is nothing small about Peace Tree’s ambitions. The 20 barrel brewhouse features
four fermenting tanks, is capable of brewing 3,720 gallons and four different beers
simultaneously, and is prepared to begin filling and shipping bottles and kegs of their
three signature beers: Red Rambler red ale, Rye Porter, Hop Wrangler 3 IPA, as well
as their own traditional root beer. Additional seasonal beers will be released three to four
times per year as well.

Founders Finds Continued Growth in Local Brewing Operation

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich) – Just a little more than two years after moving into its new brewing facility on Grandville Avenue
in downtown Grand Rapids, Founders Brewing Company is reporting significant, on-going growth.

Prior to the move in 2007, Founders employed 19 people in its 8000-square-foot facility, with a production capacity of 5000
barrels. The move to the current 27,000-square-foot facility meant an increase to more than 70 employees and five times the
production to 30,000 barrels. In fact, barrel production for 2009 was up 72% and President Mike Stevens couldn’t be happier.
